Full Throttle Wrestling Board Rules
NOTE: Be sure to read all the threads in the SIGN A CONTRACT & VITAL FED INFO forums!
Rule 1: No Flaming, Trolling, or Shoots. There's a difference between trash talk and flaming (in roleplay or out-of-character), whether its to another member or the fed itself. Don't be obnoxious or rude, otherwise you'll get banned.
Rule 2: No Advertising. Don't promote another e-fed on our site. That's poaching talent and it's plain disrespectful. Advertising for sites without e-feds is OK though.
Rule 3: Don't use other characters in your roleplays without handler consent. For informal roleplaying, neutral actions or responses are OK for the flow of the RP, but DO NOT compromise another character.
Rule 4: Management figures cannot be used without approval. Other on-air personalities are at your disposal within reason. Don't do something drastic like injure or have sexual relations with them, or anything along those lines. How well you portray them contributes to how good your RP is.
Rule 5: Two (2) RP limit for episodes of Outbreak and Rampage. Three (3) RP limit for pay-per-views. Any extra roleplays are disqualified. Also, be sure to pay attention to Judging Criteria
Rule 6: No Deadline Extensions. Three no-shows without an explanation may result in release. Legitimate reasons for no-showing may excuse a no-show. If you don't want to be booked for certain cards, check out the Booking Exception Thread in the E-Fed Related forum.
Rule 7: Don't sandbag! Only ONE roleplay can be submitted within 24 hours of the deadline. This is according to United States Eastern Standard Time. Extra roleplay(s) within that time frame are disqualified.
Rule 8: If you want to leave FTW, please let us know. We understand there are a variety of reasons to leave an e-fed but at least do us the courtesy of letting us know so we can take you off the roster. You can do this by PMing a staff member or letting us know in the Booking Exception Thread.
Rule 9: Don't whine or start drama. Whether its losses, booking, storylines, or anything else: if you have an issue, handle the matter privately with a staff member via PM or MSN. We don't tolerate airing out dirty laundry in public. If you're going to criticize, do it constructively.
Rule 10: Pay attention to the Announcements forum. Staff members reserve the right to change any rules, make exceptions, or implement policies not listed on this page.
Be sure to read through the threads in the Sign a Contract and Vital Fed Info forums for additional information about FTW before you start asking questions. Breaking any rules or policies can and probably will result in deletion.
We all work hard to make this e-fed enjoyable. Have fun with what you do! The rules are in place to ensure everything runs smoothly around here and we maintain our friendly environment. Good luck and have fun!

Okay people, this is how the STRAT form works. You copy and paste the form into a PM, fill it out COMPLETELY, and send it to a staff member. They can then forward the strat to the appropriate match writer. Strats are helpful if you're getting frustrated with your character's portrayal.
Strats need to be in before the RP deadline, but the sooner you get them in, the better the chances MIGHT be that your spots and stuff get into the match because I'm sure your match writer will be more agreeable to you making their job easier.
Note this please: If there are certain spots that you want put in the match, the space is there for you to put them in, PLEASE describe how you want it to happen (if any of you have seen how the action is in matches, you know what I'm talking about, details details details people.) You can put in as many spots as you want, but you are NOT guaranteed that all of them would happen. Also, it really helps if you have a spot for near the beginning of the match, near what you think might be the middle, and near the end.
Also, in the reaction to a win/loss place, PLEASE fill out both. If you don't, you're not getting any mention after the match. This especially has to do with those of you in championship matches. We need some kind of post match, we'll fill in SOME stuff, but there should be some kind of post match from you.
For tag teams, you only need to do one strat between the two of you, but both members info and spots need to be on there and they need to be designated as spots for each person and/or reaction for each person as well.

LAYOUT
It helps to provide us with a good roleplay layout. We're not asking that you abide by everything, we're just saying that it would help.
John: 'allo there, lads, my name's John. Oi like redheads.
John stops pretending to be an Irishman, as he puts on a cap sideways and moves around his shoulders as he prepares himself for another role.
Doe: Yo, what's up, peoples? Name's John, how YOU doin'?
There's one option called script style. You can simply just bold the first name, last name, or both names. Even a nickname would work as long as it's bolded.
"'allo there, lads, my name's John. Oi like redheads." The young blonde man had just introduced himself in an Irish accent.
"Yo, what's up, peoples? Name's John, how YOU doing?" John smirks as he shrugs his shoulders.
There's also that. It's called the novel style. The talking and the description need to be differentiated with bolds or italics if they're in the same paragraph. Otherwise, it would get confusing. Colors can be used like so...
John: I like redheads.
Doe: Yo, what's up, peoples?
That's for if you prefer script style. There's also...
"I like redheads." He was quite coy as he said that in the Irish accent. He picks up Rays cap from a nearby wooden table as he puts it on sideways. "Yo, what's up, peoples?"
GRAMMAR
We're in the game where writing... matters. So it's best to be as clear as possible when you do so. We're talking the rules of grammar - comma use, spelling, sentence structure - that sort of stuff.
John gets up and then he simply sits down and then gets up again getting a drink before he takes a sip of that as he does so some of it spills to the floor so he has to walk to the counter to clean it up
... that's awkward. There's three sentences in one - run-on sentence. Avoid that, yes? If there's supposed to be a comma there, use it. If the sentence should end at a certain point, end it there.
John gets up from the chair, but not for long. He simply sits down after a short period of time. Getting up, he takes a drink and takes a sip of that. In the process of that, some of it spills to the floor. He then walks to the nearby counter to get the paper towels to clean it up.
Now that's more precise. Sentence structure. Make sure it's clear, concise, and to the point.
John sits down. Up from the chair he rises. Going to the fridge, he gets a drink. Sipping it.
Reading that sentence, it's like we're waiting for a telegraph because it has odd stops at odd times.
John sits down. Rising up from the chair, he goes to the fridge and gets a drink. He takes a few sips from it.
Now that's more clear.
CONTENT
* Description, description, description.
There should be a moderate amount - not just one line, but not one hundred lines. We want to imagine where you are.
For example...
If you describe to us that your character is sitting on a chair and speaks and that's it? There's loads of possibilities...
He's sitting on top of a volcano. He's being pleasured by a monkey. The chair sitting on hot coals. He's sitting outside in the jungle where there's tigers that could kill him.
Make sure we know where the blue heck you are, even if it's simply minimal - so we don't imagine such over the top ridiculous things, yes?
Here's an example of too little description.
William Haze walks to the ring as he was cheered by the fans. He gets into the ring and begins to talk.
How did William Haze walk? What did he do with his walk? Did he clap the fans hands? Did he ignore them? Did he have a certain thing he does everytime he walks to the ring? What's his look? What's his state of mind? Does he have emotion to his face? He's got a personality to him - he's not one to just... simply walk down to the ring. And if that is his personality as he does so emotionless or something, make sure to note that.
FIIIIIIYAH!
The sound of his theme music blares over the intercom system as the fans get up to their seats cheering the heck out of the guy. Haze walks out with a confident aura to him with swagger in his step as he walks to top of the ramp. Standing there, he's dressed in a dark pair of jeans with its rips to them, with no shirt, and black wrestling boots. He's got a mix of a playful and a serious look on his face as he walks down the ring, straying to the right making sure to clap some hands of his fans on the way. Slamming his hands on the steps, he excitedly walks upon them as a production official gives him a microphone. Taking it, he gets himself in-between the ropes before moon-walking into the ring.
That's not too little but it's not too much either. Just right in the middle.
* Flow, flow, flow
Flow is also important. You want to make sure your words actually... make sense and not awkward. When you write out the things you say, the best way for it to flow? Say it out loud. Say it in your head. If it's awkward, it's because it is. If it's a realistic way of talking for you, then it's most likely going to flow well for us to read.
* Character development and opponent talk
The best roleplayers here use what's called a hybrid style. It's basically a mix of character development... and a promo. Of course, that's just most. There's going to be a roleplayer that strictly does promo talk... and it works for them. There's going to be a roleplayer that does mostly does character, character, character... and that works for them.
But... make sure to mix both well. Half and half is good. Even sixty and forty is good. But nothing more, nothing less - if you wish to use the hybrid style.
But please, if you're a character development type of person - you like to use stories to explain what the character's doing now (murder mystery, hanging out with friends talking about movies, etc) - don't make it the whole roleplay. Make sure there's some match talk in there, even if it's one paragraph. It's enough, at least it's a match roleplay instead of a roleplay that would've better benefitted in the 'Character Development Roleplays' forum we have here.
If you're a character development type of person? Here's a tip - make the story your character is involved is ongoing. But don't make it overcomplicated and oversaturated with such a big list of characters. Layers in a story is fantastic, but if it's going to take you twenty pages just to explain the whole story, then it just might be too complicated for us to undrestand and thus we may want to skip. Why am I offering you that tip? Because if we get the feel that we want to know what happens next... and that we can't wait for it? You've done your job us want to read more work from you... and that's a great thing.
Also, be sure it doesn't get the "Where have I heard this before feeling?" - because that would suck.
Humanizing your character. Making sure s/he actually has character.
Everyone is different from one another.... and it's up to you to make sure the wrestler you've created has his or her own identity. If all you do is just counter your opponents promos - stuff like "I'm good" - "Well, you're good, but I'm better than you" sort of trash talk, then what have we learned about you? Everyone has their personality traits that come out in their talking and what they do.. Let's use me as an example.
Gabriella - Straightedge. Bi-polar. Loves, loves psychology. Sarcastic and snarky.
Let's use Lynch as an example as well. He's a guy in which his roleplays are pretty much trash talking, but he has character to them.
Lynch - Loves beers. Came from the country, so he uses slang. Rather brash. Gentleman. The type to just do his job without caring about the rewards.
Make sure when you're writing the words in the promo aspect... that they're just not... words. You got a character, make sure the words have character in it somehow.
Also... humanizing your character? Everyone has weaknesses. Nobody is perfect, make sure to note that. If you have a character that's a man, he's going to have weaknesses. He can't possibly win every fight (all of us wrestlers have gotten into 'legit' like fights at one time or another, it's just we roll). He can't possibly be the most perfect husband ever (if he was one). He can't have any injuries in wrestling (unless he's completely new) - because... it's well... wrestling - he doesn't just get up the next day like nothing, he's feeling it. He's not going to be happy all the time and have a perfect life. He's going to get sad, he's going to get angry, he's going to get disappointed. Just make sure there's depth to him.
That should cover just about everything in terms for judging. We're simply looking for a roleplay that has the entertainment factor. We enjoy a good story... we enjoy a good 'ol fashioned trash talk promo that has that 'pow-wow'... we enjoy a good mix of both. We're not asking you must, must, must follow everything in here - because whatever works for you... works for you. It's a game for your own personal enjoyment, at least we would hope.
If I have missed anything, be sure to let me know and I'll be sure to add it.

This thread is being used to replace the "Coming & Going Thread". Use this thread to let us know about any Leaves of Absence or needs for a hiatus. Also, state it here if you don't want to be booked for certain cards.
As long as you let us know before the roleplay deadline of whatever the current card might be, you shouldn't be booked for the following card. If you tell us after the roleplay deadline, we offer no guarantees considering the short notice.
This is THE place to post booking exceptions. Don't do it in your roleplays or other threads, otherwise, they will most likely be ignored. This is probably the best place to ensure there's no booking complications.
