Well, Anderson was supposed to fight GSP following UFC 112, but after the crap that he pulled, Dana White didn't wanna go through with that "super fight"

lol pulling crap? really? How about they actually give him some competition and they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Or he could just not act like a bitch inside the cage.
I'll tell ya what, there's an old saying. If you want to stop an asshole from acting like an asshole beat the shit out of him. You want someone to stop running their mouth you shut them up. I don't see anyone ready to do that with Silva. The LEAST Dana can do is put someone in the cage with him that he can't do that with.
I find it funny also that you're calling the guy who is single handedly owning these people and making them look like idiots 'the bitch'. To me if anyones looking like a bitch it's the guys who he's not even having to try to beat. Did I say beat? I meant destroy.

Even still, it doesn't excuse him for acting like a complete jackass in the cage. Competition or not doesn't justify the antics from UFC 112. I sincerely hope that Chael Sonnen is gonna bring the fight to Anderson and can do some legitimate damage. But that's just wishful thinking. Chael's prolly gonna get smashed.
After Chael, it's gonnabe Belfort for Anderson who I believe will actually be legitimate competition for him. But if Anderson beats Vitor then he'll be forced to vacate his middleweight title and move up to the light heavyweight division, according to Dana White.
That's another thing? Why FORCE him to move up? You're taking a meal ticket a GREAT fighter at 180lbs and making him change his body? They don't. I think Dana has a personal issue with him. Like I said, I can't blame the guy because I'd do the same damn thing.
To me he's just sending a message to everyone, if someone wants to stop him from making that message Knock him the fuck out, or make him tap. Until then no one has a gripe imo.
If you're THAT much better than the competition you should be able to gloat about it and show people up. People are all criticizing him for what? Being great? Expecting others to step their game up? It should be motivation for the other guys. If they don't want to be embarrassed..... don't let him.

See, I don't take issue with the gloating or the showboating. It's the sort of thing that made Muhammad Ali one of the most entertaining fighters of all time. And I have no doubt in my mind that's who Anderson is trying to emulate.
I take issue with the fact that he showboated during the first half of the fight. And then the second half of the fight he just did hit and run tactics and barely engaged his opponent. For all the showboating that he did, he should have backed his shit up during the second half of the fight.
And I do agree with Brent and the "bitch' comment because he admitted that Maia hit him with a good shot that kinda caught him off guard which caused him to do that 180 in the second half of the fight. That's a "bitch" move.

I hope Sonnen pulls a miracle and smashes Anderson into the mat.
And there comes a point at which "showboating" becomes "being a bitch" and Anderson found that point, magically, during his fight with Maia. He clearly had Maia outclassed, then he got caught with one punch, and because Maia was smart enough not to try to play Anderson's game, the fight ended up being Silva running from him or trying to gesture for him to stand toe to toe with him.
Let's put it like this. On the feet Silva > just about all. On the ground Maia > Silva, and Silva knew it.
Still hoping for Chael Sonnen to tear Anderson Silva apart....

Saw this on one of the MMA news sites I check daily. Pretty nice preview.
And when I actually looked at the full main card for this event, this PPV is STACKED. It has to be if a fight like Thiago Silva vs. Tim Boetsch is a prelim.

Shocker: the guy handling an MMA character is about to chime in on an MMA topic.
The only issue that I've ever had with the Silva shenanigans is that he didn't finish the fight. If I recall, there were a couple times in the second round (before Maia caught him) where Maia looked like he was in zombie mode, but Silva was more interested in doing the bob-and-weave stuff than putting Maia down. And as a result of that, I think by the second half of the fight in that Abu Dhabi weather, Silva was just done and Maia hadn't spent the first 12 minutes getting his face smashed, might have been able to sneak out a victory.
However, it seems like Sonnen is gonna give Silva the fight that he typically shines in. Forrest Griffin came right at him and Silva made him look silly. James Irvin was aggressive and that didn't end well. Leben, Franklin, same story. If Sonnen is going to be as aggressive as he's claiming his going to be, I think Silva going to eat his lunch. UNLESS Sonnen can get him on his back and keep him there, but that's a big if.
But yeah, this is a great card. Two #2 contender fights with Alves/Fitch and Nelson/dos Santos. Also, I'm slightly surprised that the UFC isn't drawing a little more on the USA vs. Brazil aspect that this card has. Even Almeida has Brazilian roots and every another fight on the main card (plus Thaigo Silva vs. Tim Boetsch) is a US vs. Brazil matchup.

That's actually a really good point with the whole USA vs. Brazil thing.
And you're definitely right about that dynamic between Sonnen & Silva. If Sonnen comes in aggressive, he better do it with some good head movement. He's gottabe thinking clinch and if Sonnen can secure a quick, solid takedown, I think he has good enough top game and GNP to give Anderson some trouble.
The only issue I have with Sonnen's top game is that he looks awfully susceptible to triangles. We saw it with Demian Maia, if I'm not mistaken.
Said it before, I'll say it again. I think Anderson wins, but I'll be rooting for Chael to the bitter end. I love the shit talking that he's been doing.

I'll even see you on that point Rob and raise you another. Silva may be a black belt in BJJ, but he's submitted all of what, 2 people out of the entire group that he's fought so far? He uses his BJJ in a more defensive manner from what I've seen, scramble and move, keep the fight on the feet and use his hands, feet, knees and elbows to finish the job.
The problem is, he expects everybody to stand with him, and I KNOW Chael Sonnen is way too smart for that. Not saying Sonnen is going to win, but I don't see him getting knocked out. I see him doing what nobody else save Dan Henderson seems to have figured out to do, combinations, leg kick, throw the punch as he's moving in, THEN go for the takedown. Everybody else save for Hendo and Travis Lutter have not gotten Silva to the ground. Hendo by way of the threat of the right hand, then into a takedown, and Lutter just by pure luck and the fact that he probably was about 20 lbs heavier than Silva by the time he walked into the cage.
